HSE Officer
An urgent opportunity has been announced for an experienced HSE Officer with E-PTW certification for major oil and gas projects in Qatar, including Ras Laffan and Dukhan. This role is critical in ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance across high-risk industrial operations. The HSE Officer is responsible for maintaining strict safety standards, monitoring site activities, and ensuring that all work is executed in accordance with approved permit-to-work systems. With a short-term project duration that is extendable, this position is ideal for qualified professionals seeking international exposure in the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities
The HSE Officer will be responsible for implementing and supervising health, safety, and environmental procedures across project sites. Duties include conducting safety inspections, identifying hazards, ensuring compliance with E-PTW systems, and verifying that all work activities are carried out safely. The candidate will also be responsible for conducting toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for workers. In addition, the HSE Officer will investigate incidents, prepare safety reports, and coordinate with project management to ensure corrective actions are implemented. Maintaining strict adherence to oil and gas safety regulations is a core responsibility of this role.
Skills and Knowledge
Applicants must hold a degree or diploma in a relevant field along with mandatory OSHA and NEBOSH certifications. A valid QE-approved PTW or E-PTW certification for Dukhan is essential. Candidates must have a minimum of 6–7 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within the oil and gas industry. Strong knowledge of risk assessment, hazard control, and permit-to-work systems is required. Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills are essential for managing safety compliance in high-risk environments. Immediate availability will be considered a strong advantage during selection.
