E&I Technician
An E&I Technician plays a vital role in electrical and instrumentation projects by supporting the installation of power, control, and instrumentation cables in industrial facilities. This position is essential for ensuring that electrical systems are installed correctly, safely, and in accordance with engineering specifications. E&I Technicians work on large-scale construction, oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, and infrastructure projects where precision, teamwork, and strict adherence to safety standards are required. Their contribution helps ensure reliable electrical distribution and smooth operation of industrial plants.
Key Responsibilities
The E&I Technician is responsible for pulling, routing, dressing, and securing electrical and instrumentation cables according to approved drawings and project specifications. Daily duties include preparing cable routes, installing cable trays and supports where required, identifying and labeling cables, assisting with cable termination activities, and ensuring cables are protected from damage during installation. The technician also performs inspections, follows quality control procedures, maintains tools and equipment, and works closely with engineers, supervisors, and electricians to complete installation work safely and efficiently while meeting project deadlines.
Skills and Professional Knowledge
Applicants should have practical experience in electrical and instrumentation cable pulling on industrial projects. Candidates must be able to read basic electrical drawings, identify cable types, understand cable routing methods, and follow installation procedures accurately. Knowledge of industrial safety regulations, electrical standards, and proper use of installation tools is essential. Strong physical fitness, teamwork, communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in demanding site conditions are highly valued.
