Role Description & Industry Importance
Safety Officers and Fire Watch personnel play a critical role in maintaining safe working conditions in oil & gas, refinery, and heavy industrial projects. Safety Officers are responsible for implementing workplace safety procedures, minimizing operational risks, and ensuring compliance with industrial safety regulations. Fire Watch personnel monitor hot work activities and remain alert to potential fire hazards during welding, cutting, and high-risk operations. Their immediate response capability helps prevent accidents and protects workers, equipment, and project facilities.These positions are highly important in refinery and industrial environments where strict safety compliance is essential for smooth and accident-free project operations.
Skills and Professional Requirements
Applicants for the Safety Officer position must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, which is mandatory for this role. Candidates should also have a minimum of five years of experience working in oil & gas refineries or industrial projects. Strong knowledge of refinery safety standards, hazard control procedures, and industrial safety regulations is essential. Applicants should possess good communication skills, leadership ability, and practical experience handling safety operations within industrial environments. Fire Watch applicants must be Hadeed approved and possess a valid Hadeed ID. Previous experience in industrial fire watch duties will be considered an important advantage.
