Fire Watch (6 Months)
Industrial and construction projects in Saudi Arabia require vigilant safety personnel to monitor work areas where welding, cutting, grinding, and other heat-producing activities are taking place. A Fire Watch plays an important role in preventing workplace incidents by continuously observing designated areas and responding quickly when a fire or unsafe condition develops. Middle East Friends Contracting (MEFCO), a manpower and contracting company operating in Saudi Arabia, has announced an urgent requirement for Fire Watch personnel with Vendor Code. The opportunity is based in Jazan, offers a six-month project duration, and includes company-provided food, accommodation, and transportation.
Understanding the Fire Watch Position
A Fire Watch is responsible for maintaining continuous observation during activities that could create sparks, flames, or excessive heat. This position is particularly important around industrial work because even a small spark can become a serious hazard when combustible materials, equipment, or process facilities are nearby. The Fire Watch must remain attentive throughout the assigned work period and understand the site’s emergency procedures. Reliable observation and quick communication can help prevent minor hazards from developing into major incidents.
Main Responsibilities at the Worksite
The selected Fire Watch will monitor designated work areas during hot work and other potentially hazardous activities. Duties may include watching for sparks, flames, smoke, or unusual conditions, ensuring that the surrounding area remains free from unnecessary combustible materials, and maintaining communication with the workers performing the task. The Fire Watch may also need to alert the responsible supervisor immediately if an unsafe condition develops.
Depending on project procedures, the worker may assist with emergency response arrangements, maintain awareness of nearby fire-fighting equipment, and remain in the assigned area for the required monitoring period. Following site safety instructions, wearing appropriate PPE, and avoiding distractions while on duty will be essential.
Skills, Experience & Eligibility
Candidates should be capable of remaining alert for extended periods and should understand basic workplace fire-prevention and emergency-response practices. Previous Fire Watch experience in construction, industrial, petrochemical, or similar environments can be beneficial. The recruitment notice specifically requires a Vendor Code, so applicants should ensure that their Vendor Code is valid and available for verification.
The required documents include a Valid Iqama, Muqeem with at least three months’ validity, Vendor Code, CR Copy, and Medical Report. Since the advertisement states today mobilization, candidates who meet the requirements should be prepared to complete the process promptly.
