Role Description & Industry Importance
Fire Watch and Standby Man roles are critical in oil & gas and industrial projects where hot work such as welding, cutting, and grinding is performed. They must ensure that fire extinguishers and safety equipment are available and functional at all times. Standby Men will support site safety operations, assist emergency response teams, and ensure workers follow safety procedures. Both roles require strict vigilance, quick response to emergencies, and coordination with safety officers and supervisors to maintain a safe working environment.

A basic understanding of fire safety procedures and emergency response is required.
