A long-term technical manpower requirement has been announced for Senior Electrical Technician and Senior Instrumentation Technician positions for a Maaden – Turaif project in Saudi Arabia. The requirement, posted on 10 September 2026, includes 5 vacancies for each category, with selection based on a practical test and rates to be determined after the test. These positions are intended for technically capable personnel with genuine hands-on industrial field experience. The recruitment is particularly relevant to candidates who have worked with industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning activities. Ajeer is mandatory, while good English communication skills are preferred for effective coordination within the project environment.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Senior Electrical Technicians will be responsible for inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of industrial electrical systems. Their work may include LT and HT motors, AC/DC systems, switchgear, SF6 equipment, ACB, VCB, MCCB, MCB, protective relays, transformers, distribution boards, control panels, and associated electrical systems. They should be capable of reading SLDs and electrical schematics and supporting preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Senior Instrumentation Technicians will handle industrial instruments, sensors, variable instruments, calibration, loop checking, troubleshooting, commissioning, P&ID interpretation, and automatic control valves. Both roles require technicians who can diagnose faults systematically and execute maintenance activities according to established industrial procedures.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Applicants for the Senior Electrical Technician position should hold a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or ITI qualification and possess genuine industrial field experience. Strong practical knowledge of motors, electrical protection, switchgear, transformers, control panels, testing equipment, PM, CM, SLDs, and schematics is expected. Senior Instrumentation Technician candidates should have a Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering or ITI qualification, along with practical industrial experience covering instruments, sensors, calibration, loop checking, P&IDs, troubleshooting, commissioning, and automatic control valves. Candidates should be technically confident and capable of demonstrating their practical abilities during the selection test. Good English communication is preferred for both categories.
Project & Site Environment
The assignment is connected with Maaden – Turaif, placing the technicians within an industrial project environment where electrical and instrumentation systems require reliable maintenance and technical support. Electrical technicians may work around motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, control panels, and other energized or controlled systems, while instrumentation technicians may work with process instruments, control valves, sensors, and plant control systems. Preventive and corrective maintenance activities require coordination between technicians, supervisors, operations personnel, and other technical teams. Because the project is described as long term, selected candidates should be prepared for continued industrial field work and compliance with project-specific safety and maintenance procedures.
