Fire Watch (10 Nos)
Saudi Arabia’s industrial and construction projects place strong emphasis on workplace fire prevention, particularly during maintenance, fabrication, welding, cutting, and other hot-work activities. Fire Watch personnel help maintain safe work areas by monitoring potential fire hazards and responding quickly when unsafe conditions arise. An urgent recruitment drive is currently seeking 10 Fire Watch workers for a three-month assignment in Yanbu, with immediate mobilization and company-provided FAT.
Role Overview and Importance
A Fire Watch worker is responsible for continuously monitoring areas where hot work or other activities could create a fire risk. The position is especially important at industrial sites because sparks, heat, combustible materials, and nearby equipment can create hazardous conditions if not properly controlled.
The Fire Watch works alongside welders, fabricators, supervisors, and safety personnel to ensure that required fire-prevention measures remain in place throughout the work. Alertness and quick communication are essential qualities for this role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Selected Fire Watch personnel will monitor designated work areas during hot-work activities and watch for sparks, smoke, flames, or other signs of fire. They may check that appropriate fire extinguishing equipment is readily available and ensure that combustible materials are kept away from the work zone where required.
The worker should remain attentive throughout the assigned watch period rather than leaving the area without authorization. Any unsafe condition, fire, or emergency situation should be reported immediately through the established site procedure.
Fire Watch workers may also support post-work monitoring after hot work is completed, depending on the project’s safety requirements. Following instructions from the responsible safety team and maintaining clear communication are important parts of the assignment.
Skills, Experience and Eligibility
Candidates should be physically fit, alert, responsible, and comfortable working in an industrial environment. Previous experience as a Fire Watch, Standby Man, or in construction and maintenance projects can be useful, although no specific experience requirement is stated in the recruitment notice.
An Ajeer document is mandatory for this opportunity. Applicants should ensure that their Ajeer documentation and other required paperwork are valid and ready for verification.
The position is for three months in Yanbu, and immediate mobilization is required for successful candidates.
