Fire Watch (Immediate Hiring)
A Fire Watch is an essential safety professional responsible for preventing fire hazards and protecting personnel, equipment, and facilities during industrial operations. Fire Watch personnel are assigned to monitor work areas where welding, cutting, grinding, or other hot work activities are being carried out. Their presence helps ensure that safety procedures are followed at all times and that any potential fire risk is identified and controlled before it becomes an emergency. This role is especially important in steel plants, refineries, construction sites, and heavy industrial projects where maintaining a safe working environment is a top priority.
Key Responsibilities
Fire Watch personnel continuously observe hot work activities and inspect surrounding areas for combustible materials or unsafe conditions. They ensure that fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment remain readily available throughout the work process. In addition, they monitor workers’ compliance with safety regulations, communicate potential hazards to supervisors, respond immediately in the event of smoke or fire, and remain at the work location until the area is confirmed safe after the completion of hot work. They also support the implementation of site safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a secure workplace for everyone involved.
Skills and Professional Knowledge
Applicants should possess a strong understanding of industrial safety standards, fire prevention procedures, and emergency response practices. A valid TUV Fire Watch Card is mandatory for this position. Candidates must be alert, responsible, physically fit, and capable of working in demanding industrial environments. Good communication skills, teamwork, the ability to identify hazards quickly, and strict compliance with workplace safety regulations are essential qualities for success in this role. Previous experience in steel plants, refineries, or industrial construction projects will be considered an added advantage.
