Role Overview and Industry Importance
A Safety Officer is responsible for promoting a safe working environment by implementing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies on construction and industrial sites. On Aramco projects, Safety Officers play a critical role in ensuring all activities comply with Aramco safety standards, Saudi regulations, and international HSE practices. They help prevent workplace accidents, conduct inspections, identify hazards, investigate incidents, and educate workers on safe work procedures. Their contribution is essential for maintaining project safety, minimizing operational risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidates will monitor daily work activities to ensure compliance with Aramco HSE requirements, conduct routine site inspections, identify unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective actions. They will participate in toolbox talks, verify work permits, inspect personal protective equipment (PPE), investigate incidents, maintain HSE documentation, and prepare safety reports. Safety Officers will also coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and project management to ensure all work is carried out safely and according to approved procedures. Maintaining emergency preparedness and promoting a strong safety culture will also form a key part of the role.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Applicants must be Aramco Approved Safety Officers with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience. A physical (original) NEBOSH Certificate issued before 2022 is mandatory for this position. Candidates should have excellent knowledge of industrial safety standards, risk assessment, hazard identification, permit-to-work systems, emergency response procedures, and HSE documentation. Strong communication skills, leadership ability, and experience on refinery, petrochemical, or oil & gas projects will be highly advantageous.
