Role Overview and Project Importance
Steel Fixers play a vital role in reinforced-concrete construction by preparing and installing reinforcement steel according to drawings and project specifications. Accurate reinforcement work is essential because it directly affects the strength and structural integrity of concrete structures.
Civil Foremen supervise site activities and coordinate workers to ensure construction tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements. Their leadership helps keep manpower organized and supports timely completion of daily targets.
Responsibilities on the Worksite
Steel Fixers will be involved in cutting, bending, tying, positioning, and securing reinforcement bars before concrete placement. They may read basic reinforcement drawings, check dimensions and spacing, and coordinate with civil workers to ensure reinforcement is installed correctly. Maintaining a safe work area and using appropriate PPE will also be part of their daily responsibilities.
Civil Foremen will supervise construction crews, distribute daily assignments, monitor progress, and coordinate activities with engineers and site management. They may inspect workmanship, check materials, resolve routine site issues, and ensure workers follow project drawings, specifications, and safety procedures.
