Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The selected Pipe Fitters will be responsible for reading and interpreting piping isometric drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications before beginning installation work. Daily responsibilities include measuring, cutting, fitting, assembling, aligning, and installing various types of pipes, fittings, valves, flanges, and related components while ensuring compliance with project standards and quality requirements.
Pipe Fitters will inspect materials before installation, verify dimensions, prepare pipe sections for welding, support hydrostatic testing activities, and ensure that piping systems are installed according to approved procedures. They will work closely with welders, supervisors, quality inspectors, and engineers to complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining project schedules.
Additional responsibilities include using hand and power tools safely, maintaining clean work areas, reporting damaged equipment, identifying installation issues, and recommending corrective actions when necessary. Candidates must follow all workplace safety regulations, wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively contribute to creating a safe and productive working environment throughout the project.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Applicants should have previous experience working as a Pipe Fitter on industrial, oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, or construction projects. Strong drawing interpretation knowledge is mandatory, as candidates will regularly work from piping isometric drawings and engineering plans.
